We try to provide additional recognition for our newer sponsors by doing “Sponsor Spotlights” on our company blog, but we’d like to take some time to recognize some of our deeply involved sponsors who have really made their mark on the community through their individual business practices, as well as through the Sponsor A Highway Program.
In a recent article published by the Daily Bulletin, Caltrans is encouraging motorists to keep the state clean with its “Don’t Trash California” campaign and is working hard to bring forth public awareness to the amount of money being spent annually on trash cleanup.
While many kids his age seem to be more concerned about video games, Kale Tibbetts is far more interested in keeping the world around him beautiful. When he isn’t busy playing Ice Hockey, Soccer, or participating in Triathlons, Kale is making a difference in his community by helping keep his community clean. Kale’s respect for nature started when he was just a toddler and he would pick up pieces of litter while being pulled around in his wagon.
Every year on Earth Day, people take a moment to reflect on what they can do to keep our planet healthy. Fortunately, there are people who feel that one day is simply just not enough to make significant impact. Our sponsors support a program that pulled 144,094 bags of garbage off the highway last year, which is roughly the weight of 24 elephants!
As we count our blessings we must also continue to count on each other.
