Here's how the Adopt A Highway Program works. A one-mile segment of highway is available for sponsorship for a two year period. Adopted segments are cleaned and maintained according to the New York City Department of Transportation requirements.

Adopt A Highway Maintenance Corporation of New York (AHMC/NY) provides all cleaning and maintenance services, charging a monthly fee which can vary depending on required clean frequency and segment terrain.

 

For each segment sponsored, one litter removal sign with the sponsor recognition panel is placed on the shoulder of the freeway, facing traffic within each one-mile segment. Signs are green with white reflective letters and measures 72" x 48" in size.

Sponsor recognition panel measures 60" x 24." AHMC/NY's art department will work with you to design your sponsor panel for the best visibility and exposure.

Signs are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
