It is with great pleasure the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) invites you to participate in Sponsor-A-Highway in the Metro Detroit area.
The Sponsor-A-Highway program is designed to provide businesses the opportunity to financially sponsor litter removal on designated state highways. Sponsorships provide the funding for each mile of sponsored highway to be picked up by a MDOT approved vendor no less than twelve (12) times a year. Sponsors are recognized with color signage, featuring the company name and logo that places your company in front of thousands of potential customers daily.
Participating in the program gives businesses the opportunity to be recognized as an environmental supporter with a civic pride and a sense of community responsibility. The program provides for cleaner highways and fewer safety hazards for the traveling public. It also allows out department to use funds allocated for litter removal to improve Michigan roads.
MDOT has partnered with Adopt-A-Highway Maintenance Corporation to bring Sponsor-A-Highway to Michigan. They are a national company in business for more than 20 years and have facilitated the sponsorship of thousands of miles of highway in Arizona, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Utah, Washington, Kansas, and now Michigan.

For each segment sponsored, one litter removal sign with sponsor recognition panel is placed on the shoulder of the freeway, facing traffic within each one-mile segment. Signs are blue with white reflective letters and measure 60" x 42" in size.
Sponsor recognition panels measure 52" x 16." AHMC's art department will work with you to design your sponsor panel for the best visibility and exposure. Click the image to the right to view the sign specs.
